Florida EOC Calculator & Reference Sheet Policy (2025–2026): What You Get by Subject
One of the most common test-day worries in Florida is simple: “Do I get a calculator, and what's on the reference sheet?” Good news — for every Florida End-of-Course (EOC) assessment, the tools you're allowed are built right into the testing platform, and they're the same for every student. Here's exactly what you get, by subject, per the official FDOE policy (updated July 2025).
What each Florida EOC provides
| Subject | On-screen tools provided |
|---|---|
| Algebra 1 (B.E.S.T.) | On-screen scientific calculator + reference sheet |
| Geometry (B.E.S.T.) | On-screen scientific calculator + reference sheet |
| Biology 1 (NGSSS) | Four-function calculator + Periodic Table of the Elements |
| U.S. History (NGSSS) | Two-page CBT worksheet (no calculator) |
Tools appear on-screen in the state testing platform. You don't need to bring anything — everyone gets the same resources.
Can I bring my own handheld calculator?
The on-screen calculator is available to every student, so most don't need one. If your school permits a handheld for the math EOCs, it must be an FDOE-approved model — always confirm with your school first. Approved models for 2025–2026:
- Four-function: TI-108, Casio HS-4G, Sharp EL233SB
- Scientific: TI-30Xa, Casio fx-260 solar, Casio fx-82 solar, Sharp EL-510R, Sharp EL-510RN
Graphing calculators and phones are not allowed. FDOE does not approve models beyond the list above.
The smartest way to use these tools
Knowing the calculator and reference sheet exist isn't enough — you have to be fluent with them. Students lose time on test day fumbling with an unfamiliar on-screen calculator or hunting the reference sheet for a formula. The fix is simple: practice with the same on-screen format before exam day, so the tools feel automatic.
That's how our practice works: full-length, standards-aligned mock exams in the real EOC format, with step-by-step explanations on every answer.
